1st September 1956 – LIC Nationalization.
LIC came into being with 5 Zonal,33 Divisional, 212 Branches and 97 Sub-offices.
Oriental building in Mumbai was the 1st LIC’s Head quarters.
Jeevan Kendra, Church Gate, Mumbai was the 1st LIC’s Central Office building from 1.11.1957
On 31st December 1957 LIC had 2,07,373 Agents and 5,222 Development Officers.
